Effective dose calculation
In some workplaces the workers irradiation by natural radioactive sources
may be higher than appropriate level. Higher irradiation is probable at
following workplaces:
- underground workplaces (mines, caves, but even winerooms)
- filter plants
- prime coal preparation
- workplaces, where handling with dross and ash is common
- mining, oil and gas processing
- phosphate sources processing
- production of fire-resistant and corrosion-resistant materials on
the basis of zirconia
- processing of raw materials on the basis of noble earth
- metallurgical production of metals from prime raw materials
- production of materials with the use of thorium and uranium
In all these workplaces, employer is obliged by law to ensure for workers
annual effective dose calculation. If effective dose for some workers
exceeds stated value, then the employer is obliged to adopt measures leading
to decrease level of worker's irradiation.
Measurement and effective dose calculation can be provided only by subjects,
that own licence from SUJB. Nuklid firm owns licence from SUJB for this
business.
