Radioactivity in water
In water sources, there are measured three basic radiological
quantities:
- radon concentration (OAR)
- total alpha radioactivity
- total beta radioactivity
If OAR in supplied water exceeds 300 Bq/l, water can't be supplied into
the system, some anti-radon measures must be applied on the source. If
the values of OAR are between 50 - 300 Bq/l, it's necessary to consider
economic contribution of anti-radon measures. We are able to do optimizing
study for you.
Total alpha and beta radioactivity are only the indicators. Exceeding guide
values gives us information about higher occurence of some radionuclides.
Then we make complementary analysis (usually measurement of concentration of uranium,
radium 226, kalium) to find out, whether there are exceeded limit values
stated in regulation No.307/2002.

Radionuclides concentration measurement is performed by NUKLID firm on
the basis of SUJB licence, devices are verified by Czech metrological
institute in Prag.
Measurement is performed in conjunction with Vodaprim
s.r.o.. This lab is able to provide wide scale of chemical and microbiological
analysis. (contact: 377823323).
For the alpha and beta radioactivity measurement you must supply the
sample of tested water in PET vessel (4l). Sample for radon measurement
must be taken into a special vessel.
You can get these vessels in lab in Pilsen - Borska pole, Daimlerova 5, or we
can send it by post.
